Albert Boyd Cox
Albert Boyd Cox, 91, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013, at the Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, KS. Born October 19, 1921, at Protection, KS, he was the son of William and Sallie (Harned) Cox.
Albert was a lifetime resident of Comanche County, KS. He attended Protection Grade School and graduated from Protection High School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Armored Service Medical Department from 1942-1945. He was a member of V.F.W. Albert was the noxious weed supervisor for Comanche County for nineteen years and also owned and operated A & J Spraying Company.
On March 23, 1956, he married June Fish at Protection, KS. She survives.
He is survived by his wife June Cox of Coldwater, KS; one daughter: Nancy Bigham and her husband Rick of Wichita, KS; one granddaughter: Courtney Becker and her fiancé Matt Davis of Wichita, KS; three step-grandchildren: Daphne Brown and her husband Chris of Hays, KS, Darcy McDowell and her husband Tom of Andover, KS, and Dustin Bigham and his wife Kelli of Liberal, KS; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 11, 2013, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS. Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS, with Andrew Evans presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
