Alma A. Favreau

Alma A. Favreau, more affectionately known to her grandchildren as just "Favreau's", 89, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Trinity Manor in Dodge City, KS.
She was born March 12, 1923 in Coldwater, KS, the daughter of Edson A. and Leta H. (Cline) Thompson. She was a beautician for many years in Coldwater, KS and Protection, KS.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Protection, KS.
On June 21, 1945, she married Richard Joseph "Frenchie" Favreau at Delmar, KS. Frenchie was in the oil business, so they got to travel around in their younger years of life and settled in Protection, KS in 1959. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1995.
Survivors include four daughters: Loleta Schultz and Bob of Dodge City, KS, Jeannie Linnebur and Henry of Dodge City, KS, Loreta Braun of Ness City, KS, and Charolette Cook and Bob of Blackwell, OK. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Debbie, William, Chris, Robert, Alma Jo, Ricki, Lynita, Richie, Tasha, Perry, and Sherry; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by four sisters: Geneva Smith of Coldwater, KS, Janice Trebino of Hollister, CA, Wanda Waller of Hollister, CA, and Joyce Vann of Garden Plains, KS; and two brothers: Melvin Thompson of Coldwater, KS and Alfred Thompson of Coldwater, KS.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father and mother, one sister: Marguerite Hughes; one brother: Elmer Thompson; one granddaughter: Debbie Schultz; and one great-grandson: Zachary J. Cook.

Visitation is from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home in Coldwater, KS. Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at the First Christian Church in Protection, KS, with Andrew Evans presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS.
