Obituary

Mable Arlynn (McGinnis) Baker, 84, of Protection, KS, passed into the arms of her Savior on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

She was born on December 29, 1939 to Robert and Wilda (Conrad) McGinnis.  On July 25, 1959, she married the love of her life, Francis Baker.  To this union they had three children: Kenyon (Julie) Baker, Kim (Clayton) Stoltzfus, and Leisa (Kyle) Eck.

Arlynn gave her heart to the Lord at the age of eight.  She was a member of Grace Bible Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and a Bible Study leader.  She was Head of Nutrition Services for USD 300 for twenty years.  She also served as a 4-H leader, Director of Sweet Adelines, Worship leader for Women's Aglow Fellowship, Youth for Christ leader, member of Gideon Auxiliary, and served on the Comanche County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, studying the Bible, and entertaining.  The yearly highlight for Arlynn was hosting the family Thanksgiving dinner when all of her family would come.  Her family was of utmost importance to her, and Arlynn's love for each one of them grew as their own families grew.

Besides her husband and children, Arlynn is survived by her three sisters: Rozanna Barnes, Violet (Larry) Graber, and Marge (John) Jantzen; grandchildren: Theron (Meagan) Stoltzfus, Brock Stoltzfus, Grant (Julia) Baker, Tatiana (Tommy) Dominguez, Luke (Mackenzie) Baker, Lance (Erin) Stoltzfus, Jesse (Crystal) Baker, Shie (Levi) Herriage, Laura (Kyle) Pletcher, Mason (Laurisa) Eck, and Noah Eck; twenty great-grandchildren; brother-in-law: Murl Baker; numerous nieces and nephews, and several others that she opened her heart and home to during their teen years.

Arlynn was preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Robert P. McGinnis; and a brother-in-law: Ralph Barnes.
