Bambi Gay (Stark) Russell passed away peacefully at home with her children at her side on Saturday, February 23, 2019. She was born October 15, 1949 in Ashland, KS to Victor Stark and Donita (Darroch) Stark of Coldwater.

A lifetime resident of Coldwater, KS, she was known to most for her friendly welcomes to all as the receptionist at the Medical Clinic for 34 years. Bambi involved herself in the community as a supporter of local economic development, the Chief Theater, and was the owner/operator of The Small Mall gift and crafts shop in downtown Coldwater for many years. A fourth-generation resident of Comanche County, she graduated from Coldwater High School in 1967 and attended Salt City Business College. Bambi's greatest joy and devotion throughout her life was to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter: Tiffany Sowa and husband Dennis of Wichita, KS; her son: Brandon Russell and wife Megan of Andover, KS; a sister: Vicki Morgan of Wichita, KS; her grandchildren: Nick Sowa of Denver, CO, Jonah Sowa of Wichita, KS, Hannah Russell of New York, NY, and Camille Sowa of El Dorado, KS; as well as Phoebe the dog, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Bambi was preceded in death by her parents.

Calling times are from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.

Funeral service is at 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2019, at First Christian Church, Coldwater, KS, with Rev. Virgil White presiding.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, KS.
