Barbara Dean McGinnis, 90, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Wheatlands Health Care Center in Kingman, KS. Born September 5, 1930, at Booneville, AR, she was the daughter of James and Delta (Greenwood) Barbour.
Barbara was a long time resident of Kingman, KS, moving there in 1975, previously living in Greensburg, KS and Coldwater, KS. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS; was the co-owner of Greensburg I.G.A. in Greensburg, KS; and was a bookkeeper for White's I.G.A. in Kingman, KS. She was a member of the Coldwater Assembly of God Church; Kingman Covenant Assembly of God Church; and R.V. MAPS.
On May 27, 1948, she married Leroy Matthew McGinnis at Booneville, AR. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2013. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by one daughter: Linda Headings (David) of Hutchinson, KS; three sons: Ronald McGinnis (Donilu) of Scappoose, OR, Leslie McGinnis (Betsy) of Fountain Hills, AZ, and Kenneth McGinnis (Jacque) of Kingman, KS; fifteen grandchildren: Donilee McGinnis, David McGinnis, Jason McGinnis, Stephanie McGinnis, Andrea Schrag (Kevin), Erika Headings, Jennifer Graber (Jake), Jesse McGinnis (Stevi), JoAnna Wooten (Geoff), Jared McGinnis (Alexa), Juli Girard (Kent), Joseph McGinnis, Jordyn McGinnis, Rob Rogers (Christine), and Christie Sikorski (Steve); and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Covenant Assembly of God Church in Kingman, KS, with Pastor Raymond Baseleous and Pastor Bryan Parker presiding.
Graveside service is at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Kingman Covenant Assembly of God Church in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
