IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Belva Rae
(Wolf) Jones
October 13, 1935 – October 21, 2021
Belva Rae (Wolf) Jones passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at her residence in Battle Ground, WA. Born October 13, 1935 in Coldwater, KS, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Maudie (Overocker) Wolf.
The youngest of five, she attended school in Coldwater, graduating Coldwater High School in 1953. She went on to college at Colorado Women's College in Denver, CO and Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK. Impatient to make her mark on the world, she left college prior to completing her degree to work in Wichita.
She later moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and started a 28 year career with DuPont. It was at DuPont that she met her husband, Jack Jones. Belva was a supportive wife and mother, following Jack through multiple transfers across the country. They had one daughter and a son.
Belva loved music, reading, and travel but her real joy could be found in her family and friends. Her unmatched kindness, love and support was given to all who knew her. Whether it was never forgetting a birthday with a card or baking one of her amazing apple crisps, she put love into all she did.
Belva is survived by her husband, Jack Jones of Battle Ground, WA; daughter and son-in-law, Deirdre and Roger Mayhood of Surprise, AZ; grandchildren Amy Large and Ryan Large of Kennett Square, PA; sister Eva Mae Angell of Overland Park, KS and multiple nieces and nephews.
Belva was preceded in death by her parents, her son Richard Jones, her sister Barbara Johnson, and her brothers George Wolf and Jim Wolf.
It was Belva's desire to return home to Coldwater and a graveside service is planned for Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS, with Jeff Blundell presiding.
