Betty Leone Love
Betty Leone Love, 68, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012, at Life Care Center of Wichita in Wichita, KS. Born January 6, 1944, at Cherokee, OK, she was the daughter of Vernon Oral and Fleeta Lucille (Grimes) Love.
Betty was a long time resident of Protection, KS, previously living in Dodge City, KS, Enid, OK, Wichita, KS, and Dallas, TX. She attended Coldwater Grade School and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1962. She graduated from Air Capitol Business College in Wichita, KS in 1963 and worked during her life as a business secretary for United Industries in Wichita, KS, Fidelity Bank in Wichita, KS, and Western Plains Medical Center in Dodge City, KS, retiring from there in 2006. She also worked at the Protection Township Library and Protection Elder Care.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Coldwater, KS. She attended Protection First Baptist Church and Protection Christian Church.
She is survived by two brothers: Gerald Love of Las Vegas, NV and David Love (son) of Kansas City, KS; two sisters: Vera Parker of Horton, KS and Sheryl Carpenter and husband Richard of Peck, KS; two granddaughters: Chelsea and Kayla Love of Topeka, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Vernon and Fleeta Love; and one brother: Vernon LeRoy Love.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS. Funeral service is at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Protection, KS, with Pastor Brandon Hagins presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Rose Hill Cemetery near Laverne, OK.
