Billie June Hudgins, 95, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, KS.  Born June 10, 1929 at Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of Roy Sheldon and Elsie (Newman) Waldrop.

Billie was a resident of Coldwater, KS, previously living in Ohio, Colorado, Utah, North Dakota, Wyoming, California, New Jersey, and Kansas.  She graduated from high school in Akron, Ohio.

On October 16, 1948, she married Roy S. Hudgins at Akron, Ohio.  He preceded her in death on May 5, 2007.

She was a member of Grace Bible Church in Protection, KS.

Billie was very outgoing, never met a stranger, and made friends everywhere she went.  She was everyone's cheerleader, ringing her cowbell for the Denver Broncos, Coldwater Eagles, and South Central Timberwolves.

Billie's legacy is marked by her love for the Lord, love for her family, and love for her numerous Boston Bull Terriers.

She is survived by two daughters: Shirley Sowell (Bob) of Palisade, CO and Connie Westrup (Scott) of Protection, KS; seven grandchildren: Kenny Sowell (Chris), Melissa Trujillo (Robert), Chad Marques, Amy Smith (Ryan), Brett Westrup (Jaymi), Becca Bennett (Matt), and Steve Westrup (Holly); seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister-in-law: Dee Waldrop of Mount Pleasant, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather: Hardie Eller; a daughter: Janet Marques; a sister: JoAnn Hogan; and a brother: Robert Waldrop.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Grace Bible Church or South Central High School Football Team in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
