Carl Elvin Burkhall
Carl Elvin Burkhall, 80, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015, at Hilltop Manor in Cunningham, KS. Born April 9, 1934, on the family farm north of Coldwater, KS, the son of Francis and Alma (Ochs) Burkhall, he was a farmer.
Carl was a lifetime resident of Comanche County, KS. He attended New Home Country School and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1952. He was a member of the Antioch Community Church in Buttermilk, KS.
On August 29, 1953, he married Dorothy Plank at Coldwater, KS. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2010.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Wayne Burkhall; and one brother-in-law: Don Jellison.
He is survived by two daughters: Linda Basnett and her husband Rob of Coldwater, KS and Elaine McNeely and her husband Brian of Morrison, CO; one sister: Evelyn Jellison of Coldwater, KS; four grandchildren: Lindsay Rockenbach and her husband Brandon of Preston, KS, Shaunessy McNeely of Morrison, CO, Jaden McNeely and his wife Michelle of Westminster, CO, and LoriAnne McNeely of Denver, CO; and one great-grandchild: Rylan Rockenbach.
Memorial service is at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Coldwater, KS, with Rev. Gary Merritt and Pastor Doug Johnson presiding.
