Carol (Timmons) Wade, 69, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018, at North Austin Medical Center in Austin, TX. Born July 22, 1949 in Ashland, KS, she was the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Sutherland) Timmons.
She is survived by her husband: Larry Wade of Austin, TX; and one son: Michael Wade of Austin, Tx.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: David Timmons.
"Carol Timmons Wade was a beautiful person through and through. She was so incredibly loving, caring, and generous. She was stubborn at times, maybe even bull-headed, but she knew what was right and what needed to be done in every situation that arose. I gave her a great many tears when I was younger, but she always knew that my dad and I loved her with our whole hearts and souls.
Carol started life on a wind-swept plain of small-town Kansas in the 1950's. Her curious nature and a zest for life led her to explore the healthcare field but decided to enroll in business school after realizing the harsh realities of a nursing career. This, as it turned out, would be quite fortuitous for her as she was then recruited by the super-secret Central Intelligence Agency, and left for Washington, D.C. later that year, being among a select few in the world to have that honor.
When Carol left the C.I.A. after meeting my dad, a D.C. Police Officer, they got married and settled down to raise a family in Wichita. She was a legal assistant for the rest of her career, working for the top law firms in Kansas including the U.S. Attorney's Office. Later, our family moved to the bright lights hustle and bustle of Las Vegas, where she worked for multibillion-dollar casino conglomerate Harrah's Entertainment and went into Labor Law.
Always giving of herself to others, Carol would go on to develop many friendships over the years, and she touched the lives, at least in some way, of almost everyone she met.
Carol had almost 70 good years on this earth, and she left a legacy behind her that will outlast any of my own. She was a gifted writer and a phenomenal mother, wife, confidant, and friend.
Her dream for me was to settle down and have a future, having sowed the wild oats of my youth, she would tell me that I am strong and can go through anything, which I inherited from her.
My dad and I are so blessed to have had Carol as a mother and wife, and she will be missed beyond words. The world has truly lost a beautiful, loving, and kind soul and her memory, her legacy, her life, and her quirky sense of humor will be remembered well beyond the next century.
Mom, it is truly an honor and a privilege to be your son. Rest now and be in no more pain, dad and I will see you in God's time." - Michael Wade
