Carolyn N. Smith, 70, died December 19, 2018, at her Wichita, KS home, following a lengthy illness. She dedicated her career to and retired from Via Christi Health Care System, St. Joseph Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Freman B. Smith and Edith E. (Beatty) Smith Black; sister: Patricia Ann Smith; and brother: John L. "J.L." Smith.

She is survived by one brother: Frank E. Smith; one half-brother: Roy D. Black; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins. She is also survived by her best friends: Karen Moore and Eva Buehler.

Private memorial service with interment will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, KS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside St., Wichita, KS 67219. Arrangements are entrusted to Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
