Cecil Ray "Pat" Puderbaugh, Jr., 81, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, KS. Born March 17, 1944, in Topeka, KS, he was the son of Cecil Ray and Ethel Marie (Curtis) Puderbaugh.
Pat graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1962, received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Washburn University, and received a master's degree in elementary education from Emporia State University.
He married Joyce Louise Baldwin of Abilene, KS on December 23, 1966 at Topeka, KS. She preceded him in death on March 27, 2021.
Pat was a longtime resident of Coldwater, KS, moving there in 1983. He was an educator, teaching in many places including: Lawrence, Clay Center, Dodge City, Ashland, and Coldwater. He was the gifted coordinator for KI-COM for many years. After retirement, he taught gifted education in Reno County; was the Coldwater Lake Manager; did maintenance for Coldwater Parks and Prairie Plaza Apartments; and drove a school bus for USD #300.
Pat was a member of the Coldwater United Methodist Church, serving on the Administrative Council. Other memberships include: Comanche County Masonic Lodge; Pioneer Lodge Board; and Kansas National Education Association. He enjoyed gardening, photography, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by one daughter: Heather Puderbaugh of Coldwater, KS; one son: Morgan Puderbaugh (Audrey) of Leesburg, VA; one sister: Martha Robbins (Brett Butler) of Ozawkie, KS; and three grandchildren: Cassidy Puderbaugh Luton (Ben) of Wichita, KS, Zachary Puderbaugh of Leesburg, VA and Brian Puderbaugh of Leesburg, VA.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Danny Dale Puderbaugh.
Visitation with Family Present is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Funeral Service is at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2025 at the United Methodist Church in Coldwater, KS, with Rev. Billie Blair presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Pioneer Lodge or Comanche County Hospital Capital Campaign in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
