Charles Edward Uhl, 87, passed away Friday, January 24, 2020 at the family ranch in Wilmore, KS. Born December 21, 1932, at Coldwater, KS, he was the son of William and Ada (Price) Uhl.
A lifetime resident of rural Wilmore, KS, Charles was a farmer and rancher. He spent his childhood years working with his father and exploring Mule Creek. He started at an early age cultivating his skills for fishing and hunting, activities that remained his source for relaxation. He graduated from Wilmore High School in 1950.
He married Donna Lee Morton and to their 15 year marriage three sons were born: Anthony Charles, Michael Rea, and Randall Lee. They later divorced. He married Cynthia Duer and to their 18 year marriage three children were born: Corey Alan, Amy Ann, and Andrew Douglas. They later divorced. He married Darleene Hamblin and she preceded him in death on October 15, 2005.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Charles is survived by six children: Tony Uhl (Cathy) of Coldwater, KS, Mike Uhl (Robbie) of WaKeeney, KS, Randy Uhl (Shannon) of Yukon, OK, Corey Uhl (Amanda) of Sylvan Grove, KS, Amy Wilson of Coldwater, KS, and Andy Uhl (Jennifer) of Wilmore, KS; one sister: Norma Jean Friend of Salida, CO; fourteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Calling times are from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2020 (Family Will Greet Friends From 6-7 p.m.), at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Funeral Service is at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at the First Christian Church in Coldwater, KS, with Virgil White presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Interim Hospice in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
