Clarence A. Gillet
Clarence A. Gillet, 84, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, KS. Born October 31, 1927, at the family home in Comanche County southwest of Coldwater, KS, he was the son of Theodore Clarence and Ellen (Nielsen) Gillet.
Clarence was a lifetime resident of Comanche County, KS. He attended Rich Country School and Coldwater High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army in 1951. He was a member of American Legion, C-Plus Coffee Club, and Coldwater Volunteer Fire Department. Clarence worked as a carpenter, a farmer, and also as a roughneck in the oil field during his life.
On October 20, 1952, he married Gayle Nokes at Albuquerque, NM. She survives.
He is survived by his wife: Gayle Gillet of Coldwater, KS; two daughters: Quann Kuhl and her husband John of Phoenix, AZ and Ledella von Dorn and her husband James of Phoenix, AZ; one sister: Irene Kennedy and her husband Harold of Mulvane, KS; two grandchildren: Dameon Kuhl and his wife Kristi of Phoenix, AZ and Jeremy Kuhl and his wife Page of Phoenix, AZ; one great-grandson: Jack R. Kuhl of El Paso, TX; one great-granddaughter: Madelynn Q. Kuhl of Phoenix, AZ; two nieces: Bonnie McLean and her husband Barry of Protection, KS and Valerie Mayfield and her husband Stu of Mulvane, KS; one nephew: Dennis Byram and his wife Carole of Coldwater, KS; and numerous great-nieces and great- nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Thede Gillet; and one sister: Frances Byram.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday,May 22, 2012, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS. Graveside service is at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS, with Andrew Evans presiding.
