Connie Loretta Cox, 75, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at Grand Plains Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Pratt, KS. Born March 4, 1950, in Shamrock, TX, she was the daughter of John and Virgie (Dalton) Rector.

Connie graduated from Minneola High School in Minneola, KS in 1968.  She married Hoy Lee Cox, Jr., in March of 1969 in Cimarron, KS.  He preceded her in death on September 30, 2013.

A long-time resident of Coldwater, KS, Connie held several jobs during her life including: Owner/Operator of an Upholstery and Welding Business with her husband; Food Service Manager at Cimarron and Ingalls Schools; Paraeducator for South Central Schools; Lake Manager for Lake Coldwater in Coldwater, KS; and Manager of Prairie Plaza Apartments in Coldwater, KS.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson: Bryan Cox; a sister: Gala Rector; and a nephew: Louis Perez.

Connie is survived by five children: Ronnie Cox of Dodge City, KS, Tammy Wright (Pete) of Norwich, KS, Rick Cox (Tracie) of Cimarron, KS, Darren Konrade of Protection, KS, and Rodney Cox (Natasha) of Plainville, KS; one sister: Darla Perez (Tony) of Larned, KS; one brother: Tracy Rector (Jenny) of Larned, KS; sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 7, 2025 at the Big Shelter on the West Side at Lake Coldwater in Coldwater, KS.
