Cynthia Ann "Cindy" (Duer) Offield, 67, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, at her residence in Coldwater, KS. Born May 30, 1949, at Hays, KS, she was the daughter of Russell A. and Alice Jane (Bear) Duer. When she was two years old, the family moved to Protection, KS, where her dad accepted a teaching position. Cindy graduated in 1967 from Protection High School and attended Wichita State University, majoring in music education.
In 1969, Cindy married Charles Uhl. To this union were born three children: Corey Alan, Amy Ann, and Andrew Douglas. This marriage ended in divorce. Cindy owned and operated an H & R Block Tax Franchise for many years. She married Ray Freund and they were later divorced. During this time, Cindy opened a corporate apparel decorating business. For 20 years, she and her family decorated clothing with screen and digital printing, plus made signs.
Cindy married Tom Offield in 2000. In their lifetime together they flew planes, fished in Colorado and Branson, went antique searching, and enjoyed just being together.
Cindy was an active member of the Coldwater United Methodist Church, where she shared her musical talents whenever needed. She was a past member of the USD #300 Board of Education.
She is survived by her husband: Tom Offield of the home; his children: Debra Adams and Terri Brosius; her father of Weslaco, TX; her brother: Leslie F. Duer of Oceanside, CA; her children: Corey Uhl (Amanda) of Sylvan Grove, KS, Amy Wilson of Coldwater, KS, and Andy Uhl (Jennifer) of Wilmore, KS; grandchildren: Caleb Uhl (Danica), Colten Uhl, Cade Uhl, Riley Wilson, Tanner Wilson, Sierra Wilson, Abriana Uhl, and Tucker Uhl; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and step-children.
Memorial service is at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Coldwater United Methodist Church with Pastor Juan Espinoza presiding.
