Daniel Lee "Dan" Hilt, 76, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Pratt Regional Medical Center in Pratt, KS.  Born August 5, 1945, at Coldwater, KS, he was the son of John Richard and Thelma (Taylor) Hilt.

Dan was a lifetime resident of Comanche County, KS.  He graduated from Coldwater High School in 1963 and attended Pratt Junior College in Pratt, KS.  He was a member of Loyal Hustlers 4-H Club.  He was an avid K-State and Kansas City Royals fan and also supported the local school's sports teams.  Dan worked as a ranch hand for much of his life and also worked at Filson's Manufacturing in Protection, KS for many years.

On June 11, 1973, he married Linda Kaye Harkins in McLean, TX.  She preceded him in death on May 21, 2004.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Billy Hilt and Ivan Hilt.

He is survived by one daughter: Jennifer Monroe (David) of Protection, KS; one son: Jeremy Hilt of Lee's Summit, MO; two grandsons: Sidney Monroe of Hays, KS and Avery Monroe of Protection, KS; one brother: Richard Hilt of Kansas; two sisters: Betty Hilt of Illinois and Linda Singh of Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial service is at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS, with Pastor John Paul presiding.
