David Tate, Jr.
David Tate, Jr., 80, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011, at his residence in Protection, Kansas. Born May 25, 1931, in Oneale, Arkansas, he was the son of David and Leona (Walls) Tate.
David was a resident of Protection, Kansas, moving there in 2008 from Scott City, Kansas. He worked as a custodian for Johnson Grade School, Deerfield High School, and Hugoton Nursing Home during his life.
On December 11, 1951, he married Ellen Louise Borst in Arkansas. She preceded him in death on January 12, 1993.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Henry Tate.
He is survived by three daughters: Sharon Staggs and her husband Sam of Protection, Kansas, Debbie Gearhardt of Goodman, Missouri, and Kathy Hazen of Bucklin, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00, Monday, November 14, 2011, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, Kansas.
