DeLoris "De" Carol Brown
DeLoris "De" Carol Brown, 73, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS. Born March 14, 1941, at Hutchinson, KS, she was the daughter of Jesse and Marguerite (Reynolds) Brandon.
De was a lifetime resident of Comanche County, KS. She graduated from Coldwater High School in 1960 and attended beauty college in Hutchinson, KS. She was a member of Red Hat Society; Protection Art Guild; and Protection Christian Church, where she volunteered her talents in many church projects, including the life sized nativity scene and stained glass windows.
On March 12, 1961, she married Terry Huck at Ashland, KS. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1989. On May 31, 2009, she married Rodney Brown at Protection, KS. He survives.
De is survived by her husband: Rodney Brown of Protection, KS; one daughter: Stephanie Gregg and husband Johnny of Wanette, OK; three sons: Steve Huck of Protection, KS, Scott Huck and wife Shanda of Coldwater, KS, and John Huck of Protection, KS; seven step-children: Fred Bradley and family of Protection, KS, Robert Bradley and family of Imperial, NE, Ronald Bradley and family of Brewster, KS, Greg Bradley and family of Protection, KS, Loretta Bradley and family of Canon City, CO, David Brown and family of Springfield, MO, and Bill Brown and family of St. Francis, KS; one brother: Doug Brandon of Dallas, TX; one sister: DeAnna Dykeman of Edmond, OK; her mother-in-law: Grandma Bonnie Brown of Protection, KS; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and her four-legged kid: Yogi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Terry Huck; and one brother: Don Brandon.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2014, at the First Christian Church in Coldwater, KS, with Andrew Evans presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
