Diane Lynn McMoran, 74, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024 at Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS. Born June 29, 1950 at Great Bend, KS, she was the daughter of Oscar Leroy and Barbara Jean (Carter) Byrn.
Diane graduated from Woodward High School in Woodward, OK in 1969. On March 7, 1970, she married Ray "Mac" McMoran at Hardtner, KS. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1992.
A longtime resident of Comanche County, KS, Diane was a homemaker and worked as a cook for U.S.D. #300 for many years. She also worked as a cook at the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS for 22 years, where she was loved and appreciated by her work family. She enjoyed reading and watching sports, especially N.F.L. Football.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.
She is survived by three sons: Ed McMoran (Nicki) of Coldwater, KS, Cam McMoran (Lindsey) of Coldwater, KS, and Mike McMoran of Coldwater, KS; one daughter: Angela Shaw of Medicine Lodge, KS; one sister: Nancy Dougherty (Chuck) of Woodward, OK; two brothers: Max Byrn (Sheri) of Woodward, OK and Jack Byrn of Woodward, OK; seven grandchildren: Hagen McMoran, Olivia Shaw, Sam McMoran, Elizabeth McMoran, Jenna McMoran, Danni Shaw, and Jake McMoran; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation With the Family Present is from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Graveside Service is at 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 25, 2024, with Jeff Blundell presiding, at McMoran Family Cemetery, ½ mile south of 277 Road 28, Coldwater, KS (Cam and Lindsey's House), turn west & follow the lease road. (We will follow in procession from Cam and Lindsey's house to the graveside at 2:30 p.m.)
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Comanche County Hospital in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
