Don Kerstetter
Don Kerstetter, 74, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012, at the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, Kansas. Born July 8, 1937, at Ashland, Kansas, the son of Roy and Blanche (Sailor) Kerstetter, he was a farmer and rancher.
Don was a lifetime resident of Comanche County, Kansas. He graduated from Protection High School in 1955 and attended Fort Hays College. He was a member of the Protection United Methodist Church and served on the Board of Directors for God's Ranch in Mountainburg, Arkansas, for many years.
He married Judy Ellis on July 30, 1961 in Coldwater, Kansas. She survives.
He is survived by his wife: Judy Kerstetter of Coldwater, Kansas; three sons: Devin Kerstetter and his wife Julie of San Antonio, Texas, Doug Kerstetter and his wife Jennifer of Protection, Kansas, and Jim Wright and his wife Laurie of Burrton, Kansas; three sisters: Judy Heitmann of Waterville, Kansas, Betty Norton and her husband Bob of Buffalo, Oklahoma, and Bonnie Mendenhall and her husband Doyle of Round Lake, Illinois; seven grandchildren: Drew, Megan, and Derek Kerstetter, Briggan and Cort Kerstetter, and Jodi and Jarett Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Rex Kerstetter.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, (Family Will Greet Freinds From 5-7) at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, Kansas. Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at the Protection Mennonite Church in Protection, Kansas, with Pastor Rod Crowell, Pastor Jack Woods, and Pastor Suzie Woods presiding. Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, Kansas.
