Doris L. Kimberly-Ward, 78, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Newton Medical Center in Newton, KS.  She was born to Daniel and Viola (Lazroff) McGee on July 14, 1944 at Malta Bend, MO.

Doris's family moved to Protection, KS when she was in second grade.  Doris attended Protection High School, graduating in 1962 and attended Wichita Business College.  She worked in Wichita, KS until she was united in marriage to Ronald Kimberly in 1964.  Doris worked several office jobs in Protection thru the years and upon the death of her husband, she moved to Medicine Lodge, KS to be near her daughter.  In 2004, she was united in marriage to Ronald Ward.  They later retired to the Schowalter Villa in Hesston, KS.

She leaves to mourn her husband: Ronald Ward of Hesston, KS; daughter: Sondra Talbott of Wichita, KS; step-daughters: Jamie Gracey of Newton, KS and Wendy Langenegger of Robinson, TX; brothers: James McGee of Joplin, MO and Eugene McGee of Laurel Hill, NC; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Per her wishes, there will be no funeral.  Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS with Pastor Rusty Westerfield presiding.
