Obituary

Doris Anne (Dorsey) Leeper passed away on June 2, 2018 in Coldwater, KS at the age of 91. She was born February 20, 1927 in Omaha, NE, to Charles Duvall Dorsey and Georgia Marie Funk Dorsey. At the age of ten, the family moved back home to the Protection, KS area. She graduated from Protection High School in 1945 and attended Dodge City Junior College where she received an emergency teaching certificate.

On December 21, 1946 she married David Paul Leeper. They had seven children.

D. A. (as she was commonly known), was a member of the Protection Christian Church and was deeply dedicated to her Lord and Savior.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David; a son, Kim Leeper; three siblings, Arlene Butts Wait and Charla Mae Reeder and John Dorsey; a grandson, Matthew Leeper; and a great-grandson, Colt Leeper.

She is survived by six children and their spouses: Mac and Sherry (Herd) Leeper of Protection, KS; Dana and Harvey Selzer of Berthoud, CO; Sharon (Webster) Leeper of Wilmore, KS; Sara Leeper and Cindy Wells of Thornton, CO; Lisa and Lowell Brooks of Laverne, OK; Joni and Steve Rankin of Dallas, TX; and Mona and Daniels Heinze of Newton, KS. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 34 great- grandchildren: Kristi and Sean Hensley and children, Joshua, MacKenzy, and Sydney Meis; Mishaun and Brad Estes and children, Talon and Ridge Estes; Tiffany and Chris Pike and children, Trace, Breckyne, Tade, Briekyne, and Trage Pike; Nathan and Jenny Leeper and children, Taylor and Brynn Leeper; Andrew and Heather Leeper and children, Alida and Aycen Leeper; Amber and Bryan Buikema and children, Spencer Salt, Busby and Beatrix Buikema; Cade and Jody Leeper and children, Creed and Cashton Leeper; Seth Leeper and children, Emma Grace and Parker Leeper; Cassi and J. D. Nunnery and children, Gage and Beckett Nunnery; Lauren Brooks and children, Hayden Mattson and Aubrey Johnson; Lindsey Brooks; Landon Brooks; Luke Rankin and son, Gabe; Leah and Caleb Hartman and children, Claire, Wesley and Dean Hartman; Abram Rankin; Aaron Rankin; Thad and Abby Allender; Brienne and Adam Misasi and children, Dylan Allender, Leo and Nora Misasi; Brandi and Doug Winger and children, Jude and Sheldon Winger. Other survivors include two sisters, Bobby Thrall of Granada, CO and Nadine McPhail of Wichita, KS; and sister-in-law Judy Dorsey of Warrenton, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling times are from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2018 (Family Will Greet Friends From 5-7 p.m.) at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.

Funeral service is at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Protection Christian Church in Protection, KS, with Rev. Stephen Rankin presiding.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS.
