Dwight "Pep" Pepperd

Dwight "Pep" Pepperd, 81, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011, at his residence in Coldwater, KS. Born September 1, 1930, at Coldwater, KS, he was the son of Merrill and Zora (White) Pepperd.
Dwight was a longtime resident of Comanche County, KS, moving back to Coldwater, KS in 1994 from Goddard, KS. He attended Wilmore Grade School and Wilmore High School. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Navy from 1950-1954.
Dwight worked during his life as a truck driver and was a member of the Coldwater Volunteer Fire Department.
On April 1, 1956, he married Shirley Maxine Heape in New Mexico. She preceded him in death on January 14, 1993. On July 4, 1993, he married Ruby (Metzker) Moore at Coldwater, KS. She survives.
He is survived by his wife: Ruby Pepperd of Coldwater, KS; six sons: Larry Pepperd (Rose McMahon) of Hutchinson, KS, Paul Pepperd (Karen) of Kingman, KS, Arlen Pepperd of Wichita, KS, Scott Moore (Terri) of Kingman, KS, Kent Moore (Bobetta) of Cunningham, KS, and Kris Moore of Coldwater, KS; one daughter: Michelle Moore of Macksville, KS; one brother: Gary Pepperd of Canton, KS; two sisters: Margaret Greene (Phil) of Tucson, AZ and Myrna Bumgarner of Coldwater, KS; sixteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley, and one daughter: Jenny Polan.

Celebration Of Life Service is from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home in Coldwater, KS, followed by a graveside service at 11:15 a.m., Thursday, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS, with Rev. Virgil White presiding. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home.
