Edward Robbins "Rob" Koger, Jr.
Edward Robbins "Rob" Koger, Jr., 35, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Born May 1, 1976, at Pratt, Kansas, he was the son of Edward R. and Kay E. (Luder) Koger.
Rob attended Coldwater Grade School and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1994. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, and a Master's in Business Administration from Rice University in Houston, Texas. He worked as a stockbroker for U.B.S. PaineWebber in Burlington, Vermont, as a market analyst for Conoco Phillips in Houston, Texas, as an analyst in business development for Koch Industries in Wichita, Kansas, and as vice president of the Wichita Center for Excellence. He also owned and operated Rio Rubix Ranch near Belvidere, Kansas.
Rob was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, and was a Third Degree Knight in Knights of Columbus. He was a member of American Angus Association and volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters. He was a black belt in karate and tae kwon do and enjoyed teaching martial arts to children.
He is survived by his parents: Edward R. and Kay E. Koger of Wilmore, Kansas; his grandparents: James and Loretta Luder of Colwich, Kansas; one brother: Jared Koger and his wife Amanda of Belvidere, Kansas; one sister: Jenna Simmons and her husband Matt of Laurel, Mississippi; two nieces: Brooklyn Koger and Emma Simmons; one nephew: Ethan Koger; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Evan and Betty Koger.
Vigil service is at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pratt, Kansas. Mass Of Christian Burial is at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pratt, Kansas, with Rev. John Strasser and Rev. Cosmas Nwosuh, MSP, presiding.
Private family burial will follow the service at Soldier Creek Cemetery in Belvidere, Kansas.
