Elizabeth Claire Ashlock, 46, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at Ashland Health Center in Ashland, KS. Born July 27, 1979, in Salt Lake City, UT, she was the daughter of Mary (Burt) Brewer.
Elizabeth was a lifetime resident of Comanche County, KS, currently living in Protection, KS. She graduated from Coldwater High School in 1999.
On August 1, 1998, she married Brent Louis Ashlock at Coldwater, KS. He survives.
Elizabeth loved her children and grandchild more than anything in this world. Her love knew no limits, something she demonstrated in the most extraordinary way in 2013, when she donated her kidney to her son, Cody, giving him another chance at life. She was a devoted mother and Mimi, supporting her children and granddaughter in all their activities, especially baseball.
Elizabeth had a strong work ethic, and she held many jobs during her life including: she was a waitress at Dave’s Pizza, Don’s Restaurant, The Blonde Grill, and Cups & Mugs; she worked as a child care provider; and she held many positions at South Central and Ashland Schools. She enjoyed gardening, sunbathing, and all outdoor activities.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband: Brent Ashlock of Protection, KS; three children: Cody Ashlock (Jalyssa) of Dodge City, KS, Emerald Veatch (Chase) of El Dorado, KS, and Bryce Ashlock (Danielle) of Manhattan, KS; one granddaughter: Blaire “Pumpkin Pie” Veatch; her mother: Mary Brewer of Coldwater, KS; three brothers: Chris Cain of Topeka, KS, John Cain of Salt Lake City, UT, and Richard Brewer of Ponca City, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: John and June Burt and Grandma De Brown.
Visitation With Family Present is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2026, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home in Coldwater, KS.
Funeral Service is at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Protection Christian Church in Protection, KS, with Pastor Brandon Hagins presiding. Burial will follow the funeral service at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Elizabeth’s Grandchildren Education Fund in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
