Dr. Ellen Maxine (Beeley) Emerson Weber

Dr. Ellen Maxine (Beeley) Emerson Weber, 87, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012, at her residence in Alva, OK. Born December 19, 1924, at Wichita, KS, she was the daughter of J. Lynn and Frances (McKinney) Beeley.
Maxine was a resident of Alva, OK, having grown up in the Coldwater, KS area and previously lived in Pratt, KS. She attended Missouri Valley Country School and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1943. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Northwestern State College in Alva, OK in 1965; a Master's Degree in Education from Wichita State University in Wichita, KS in 1970; and a Doctorate in Education from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK in 1986. She was a retired educator.
Her memberships included: Delta Kappa Gamma Society; Order of Eastern Star; National Education Association; Outstanding Civic Leaders of America; National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Club; Kappa Delta Pi Society; and Twentieth Century Women's Organization.
She married Calvin J. Emerson on April 1, 1945 at the United Methodist Church in Coldwater, KS. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1973. She married Fabien Weber in 1975 at the United Methodist Church in Coldwater, KS. He also preceded her in death.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, her Grammy: Mary Ellen Beeley; and one brother: Ross Beeley.
She is survived by two sons: Timothy K. Emerson and companion Cindy Thies of Branson, MO and Ted R. Emerson and wife Judi of Hutchinson, KS; four grandchildren: Debbie Emerson of Baltimore, MD, Michelle Amaya of Kinsley, KS, Travis Emerson of Shawnee, KS, and Ashley Coble of Dollar Bay, MI; five great-grandchildren: Sandra Holt, Veronique Amaya, Martin Amaya, Shellbee Amaya, and Caden Cal Emerson; two sisters-in-law: Betty Beeley Brass of Kansas City, KS and Jean Emerson of Wichita, KS; one niece: Ellen Beeley Sweeney of Kansas City, KS; one nephew: Ronnie Lynn Beeley of Los Angeles, CA; a step-brother: Larry Lewis; and a step-sister: Betty Wharton.

Funeral service is at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in Coldwater, KS, with Rev. Gary Merritt presiding. Visitation is from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, (Family will greet friends from 4-6) at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
