Florence Marie "Flo" Heft

Florence Marie "Flo" Heft, 72, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015, at her residence in Coldwater, KS. Born December 11, 1942, at Salina, KS, she was the daughter of Donald and Leslie (Exline) Turley.
Flo attended Strong City High School in Strong City, KS. On January 16, 1959, she married Loran Houk. He preceded her in death. On February 14, 1981, she married Jerry Heft. He preceded her in death.
Flo was a long time resident of Coldwater, KS, moving there in 1979, previously residing in the Pacific Northwest, where she worked as Regional Franchise Manager for Vip's Restaurant Inc. She worked for much of her life as an insurance agent and was an exceptionally dedicated member of the AFLAC family.
She was a member of the Antioch Community Church in Buttermilk, KS; Order of Eastern Star; and Coldwater Chamber of Commerce, where she volunteered and spearheaded many projects including: Come on Home, City Wide Garage Sale, and Christmas Lights.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Cleo Kay Peak.

Flo is survived by seven children: Cheryl Brown of Seaside, OR, Richard Houk (Marisol) of Strong City, KS, Chris Houk of Alva, OK, Patrick Houk of Pratt, KS, James Heft (Loretta) of Coldwater, KS, Tammy Lindsey of Tampa, FL, and Kelly Cram (Duane) of Riverton, KS; one brother: Tom Turley of Enid, OK; five sisters: Donna Ryan of Amarillo, TX, Cindy Koehn (Ray) of Wichita, KS, Jean Ann Trummel of Wilmore, KS, Leslie Mayer of Wichita, KS, and Becky Turley of South Hutchinson, KS; seventeen grandchildren: Joseph Boucher, Angela Laufenberg, Richard Houk, Jr., Shawn Houk, Thomas Houk, Anthony Stewart, Brandy Stewart, Clayton Houk, Austin Houk, Nathan Heft, Hunter Heft, Erick Lindsey, Andrew Lindsey, Matthew Lindsey, Ashley McElwain, Makenzie Cook, and Colby Cram; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law: Sherrell Heft of Greensburg, KS; her two precious dogs: Max and Jake; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2015, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.

Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the First Christian Church in Coldwater, KS, with Pastor Woody Wilhelm presiding. Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
