Arthur Gregory "Greg" Bradley, 64, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, at his residence in Protection, KS. Born April 2, 1959, at Del Norte, CO, he was the son of Robert Earl and Annie Alforetta (Lambert) Bradley. Greg's stepfather, Rodney Brown of Protection, KS, married Annie in 1963, when Greg was four years old.
Greg grew up in Colorado and Goodland, KS. He had five brothers, one sister, and a cousin that made up a very full house. In the Goodland area, Greg's first jobs were working for Steven's Ranch and Helman's Farms. In the summer, he would come to the Protection area and help his Uncle Dennis and Aunt Cathy bale hay. While there, he would stay with his grandparents, Rufus and Bonnie Brown.
Greg's dad, Rodney, moved the family to Protection, KS, Greg's junior year. He was a star wrestler in Goodland and P.H.S. had no wrestling program at the time, but one was started, just for Greg. He again went to State his senior year.
Greg graduated from Protection High School in 1978. He and Paula chose to go to Liberal Area Vo-Tech, Greg for carpentry and Paula for secretarial training.
Greg and Paula were married on April 14, 1979 in Protection, KS and lived in Liberal, KS for two years before moving back to Protection.
Greg worked for Filson's Manufacturing, then the City of Protection, where he was taught about working on power lines and keeping the Protection Power Plant up and running by his father-in-law, Ray Dowling. When the city chose to have CMS Electric service the community, Greg went to work for CMS Electric in 1984, and continued working for them until his passing.
Greg is survived by his wife: Paula Bradley of Protection, KS; his two sons: Hugh Bradley and wife Nichole and son, Tucker, currently of Lawrence, KS, but soon moving to Spain, and Daniel Bradley and wife Rachel of Earlham, IA; two extra kids that spent most of their time in our home, Kenzie Price and David Hodges, they were like his kids too; his father: Rodney Brown of Protection, KS; brothers: Fred Bradley of Protection, KS, Ronald Bradley of Brewster, KS, and Bill Brown and wife Christa of St. Francis, KS; sister: Loretta Bradley of Canon City, CO; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
