Harold L. McKinney, 94, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at Kiowa County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, KS. Born July 10, 1923 on a farm north of Coldwater, KS, the son of Walter Arthur and Sadie (Marley) McKinney, he was a farmer.
Harold was a lifetime resident of the Coldwater, KS area. He attended Reeder Country School and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1941. He was a member of the Coldwater First Presbyterian Church; Masonic Lodge; Board of Directors for Greensburg Production Credit Association; and Board of Directors for Federal Land Bank of Pratt, KS.
On May 16, 1948, he married Mary Alice Doll at the Presbyterian Church in Coldwater, KS. She survives.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Alice McKinney of Greensburg, KS; one daughter: Barbara McKinney (Wil Goering) of Madison, IN; three sons: Donald McKinney (Arviada) of Rose Hill, KS, Darryl McKinney (Lisa) of Moundridge, KS, and Dennis McKinney (Jean) of Greensburg, KS; one brother: Robert McKinney of Weskan, KS; ten grandchildren: Jacob Goering, Garel Blanchard, Andrew McKinney, Adam McKinney, Abigail McKinney, Daryl McKinney, Randyl McKinney, Mikyl McKinney, Kelly McCarty (Travis), and Lindy Schultze (Eric); one great-grandchild: Asher McCarty; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Russell McKinney; and four sisters: Naomi Ellis, Maxine Smith, Merle Olson, and Dorothy McKinney.
Calling times are from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at the Coldwater United Methodist Church in Coldwater, KS, with Pastor Terry Mayhew and Pastor Juan Espinoza presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
