Obituary

Jack D. Allen, 84, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS. Born July 15, 1933 in Coldwater, KS, he was the son of Renous J. and Ruth G. (Beeley) Allen.

Jack was a lifetime resident of Coldwater, KS. He attended Missouri Valley and Sunnyside Country Schools and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1951. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956.

On December 26, 1952, he married Erma Wilson at Coldwater, KS. She survives.

During his life, Jack worked as an electrical lineman, farmer, and for the City of Coldwater Water Department. He was a member of the Coldwater First Christian Church, American Legion, and Coldwater Jaycees.

He is survived by his wife: Erma Allen of Coldwater, KS; three daughters: Marcy Williamson of Hutchinson, KS, Chris Hrencher (Kelly) of Medicine Lodge, KS, and Michilyn Allen-Coen (Randy) of Florissant, CO; one son: Jay Allen of Houston, TX; four grandchildren: Josh Williamson (Sarah), Dr. Bret Williamson, Ryan Allen, and Drew Allen; two great-grandchildren: Ella and Jack Williamson; three brothers: Jerry Allen (Janis) of Coldwater, KS, Jimmie Allen (Janice) of Wichita, KS, and Jene Allen (Robin) of Coldwater, KS; and one sister: Jennie Lenertz (Jerry) of Coldwater, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Renous and Ruth Allen; one brother: Joe Allen; a grandson: Nate Sherman; a son-in-law: Mike "Willie" Williamson; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Cecil and Lorena Wilson.

Calling times are from 2-6 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2018 (Family Will Greet Friends From 5-6 p.m.) at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.

Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2018 at First Christian Church, Coldwater, KS, with Andrew Evans presiding.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, KS, with full military honors.
