Jane Ellen Deewall, 90, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021 at Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS.  Born June 15, 1931 at Sublette, KS, she was the daughter of E.C. "Slim" and Etta (Dye) Creeden.

Jane was a long time resident of Coldwater, KS, moving there in 1967.  She was a member of the Coldwater First Presbyterian Church.  Other memberships include: Coldwater V.F.W. Auxiliary; Hospital Auxiliary; Research Club; Civic Club; Volunteer for American Red Cross; and she volunteered making cookies and birthday cakes for residents at Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, KS.  She was a restaurant operator, working at Liberal Country Club in Liberal, KS, and Comanche Restaurant and The Branding Iron, both in Coldwater.

On May 15, 1948, she married George A. Edwards at Sublette, KS.  To this union four children were born.  She later married John Edward Deewall on May 19, 1968, at Coldwater, KS.  He preceded her in death on July 22, 2009.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a great-grandson: Conner Taylor; three sisters: Nita Sunderland, Joan Moore, and Wanda West; and five brothers: Dorsey, Bob, Bill, Ben, and Jack Creeden.

She is survived by one son: Michael Edwards (Nita) of Garden City, KS; three daughters: Judy Lewallen (Dennis) of Cushing, OK, Debra Lindsay of Coldwater, KS, and Diana Riner of Coldwater, KS; a step-daughter: Liz Smith (Dr. Troy) of Alva, OK; a sister: Mary Allingham of San Diego, CA; a brother: Jim Creeden (Gladys) of Sublette, KS; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Calling times are from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Family Will Greet Friends From 5-7 p.m.), Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.

Funeral service is at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2021, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS, with Jeff Blundell presiding.

Graveside service is at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 27, 2021, at Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette, KS.
