Jean Frances Fitzwater
Jean Frances Fitzwater, 90, died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Ashland Health Center in Ashland, Kansas. Born May 15, 1921, on a farm south of Protection, Kansas, she was the daughter of Ernest and Pearl (Riepe) Fitzwater.
Jean was a lifetime resident of the Protection, Kansas area. She attended Baxter Country School south of Protection, Kansas. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Protection, Kansas. Other memberships include: Twin Hill E.H.U.; Royal Neighbors; and Rebekah Lodge.
Jean is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Garland Fitzwater, Ray Fitzwater, and Leroy "Jim" Fitzwater; and one sister: Velma Horton.
Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the First Christian Church in Protection, Kansas, with Pastor Rusty Westerfield presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Protection Cemetery in Protection, Kansas.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Prairie or Ashland Health Center in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, Kansas 67029.
