Jimmy Allen "Jim" Moore, 86, of Protection, passed away February 21, 2022, at Protection Valley Manor, in Protection, KS.

He was born September 6, 1935, in Ashland, KS, to Russell and Irene (Klasser) Moore.

Jim attended school at Protection High School, graduating with the class of 1953 and went on to attend Fort Hays State University, graduating in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving two years, with one year spent in Korea as a personnel clerk. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Protection. He served several years as Trustee of the Protection Township. He served as the head of the Election Committee in Protection for many years.

He enjoyed his time farming with his father and brother on the family farm north of Protection where he grew up. He also enjoyed golfing and traveling, with several of his trips being Arizona during the winter. Jim loved watching sports on TV, tracking the stock markets, visiting the casino and time spent with nephews, nieces and catching up with his great nephews and nieces on their activities.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Irene Moore.

He is survived by his brother, Warren Moore (Judy), Protection, KS, sister, Janet Dodd (Mike), Chandler, AZ, nephews, Mike Moore (Kim), Protection, KS, Mitch Moore (Sandy), Protection, KS, Merlin Moore (Heather), Coldwater, KS, Trevor Dodd (RoseAnn) Chandler, AZ, nieces, Melanie Seatvet (Scott), Grand Junction, CO, Mindy Huslig (Mark), Springfield, MO, Melissa Wilson, Johnson, KS, Mika Huso (Scott), Gilbert, AZ, Michelle Pfannenstiel (Chris), Goddard, KS and many great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Protection United Methodist Church, Hospice of the Prairie, or Comanche County Hospital in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.

Graveside Memorial Service is at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS, with Pastor Rick Branson presiding.
