Jimmy Lee Shelton, 64, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS, surrounded by his family. Born July 23, 1959 in Crocker, MO, he was the son of Elbert LeRoy and Sherry (Raney) Shelton.
Jimmy graduated from Coldwater High School in Coldwater, KS. He married Patti Bratcher on March 10, 1980. To this union a daughter, Angela, was born. They were later divorced.
A longtime resident of Coldwater, KS, Jimmy worked for Kansas Department of Transportation for over 20 years and most recently worked for Heft and Sons in Greensburg, KS. He enjoyed country music and tinkering. His family was very important to him, and he loved spending time with his daughter and grandsons and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: LeRoy Shelton; his daughter: Angela Rebel; his brother: Jerry Shelton; and his uncle: Jean Raney.
He is survived by his mother: Sherry "Granny" Shelton of Coldwater, KS; two sisters: Sherry Gossett (Brad) of Coldwater, KS and LeAnn Alley (Jody) of Coldwater, KS; three grandsons: Skyller Roller (Rikki) of Great Bend, KS, Jonathan Roller (Kalea) of Healy, KS, and Justin Roller of Arkansas City, KS; his aunt: Charvette Buckler (Penny) of Lamont, OK; his son-in-law: Jeff Rebel of Cheyenne, WY; seven nieces and nephews: Katrina Reed (Jacob), Amber Heupel, Hannah McOsker (Ethan), Tanner Gossett, Keshia Brown (Cody), Tyler Gossett (Krisdan), and Keanu Shelton; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling times are from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2024 at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at First Christian Church in Coldwater, KS, with Pastor John Lewis presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Jimmy Shelton Memorial Fund (for final expenses) in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
