Obituary

John Preston Nolan was born September 1, 1939 to Sam and Beatrice (Ogle) Nolan.  He departed this life July 11, 2021, at age 81, at his daughter's home in Coldwater, KS.

John served in the U.S. Army Special Forces from 1957-1960.  He attended Cleveland Chiropractic School in Kansas City, MO.

John went to work at Hallmark Card Company in Kansas City, MO, where he met Lucy and they were married January 27, 1962.  After that, he went to work at Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, MO for a while.  He went to work at U.S. Postal Air Mail Facility in Kansas City, MO, retiring after 40 years.

John was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Dallas County, MO.  He enjoyed working outdoors, woodworking, and he loved all animals, especially  hummingbirds.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws: William and Iva May (Pinkley-Gann) Harper.

He is survived by his wife: Lucy Nolan; his daughter: Diana Owens; three brothers; and one sister.

He will be missed by his family and friends.

Graveside service is at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2021 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS, with Jeff Blundell presiding.
