Obituary

Judith Ann Moore, cherished wife of nearly 65 years, mother, grandma and great-grandma passed away June 23, 2025, at the age of 86, at the Ashland Health Center Senior Living Center, in Ashland, KS.

Judy was born on October 20, 1938, to Walter and Lillie (Hopkins) Christopher in her parent's farmhouse located in the Collier Flats community. She lived nearly her entire life in Protection.

On November 9, 1958, Judy married her neighbor boy who became the love of her life, Warren Moore. Together they made their home on the Moore farm northwest of Protection, where they lived most of their lives raising their 7 children - Mike, Melanie, Mitch, Merlin, Mindy, Melissa and Michelle.

Judy was an accomplished seamstress who took pride in making Easter dresses, bridesmaids dresses and baby quilts. She loved to cook whether feeding the harvest crew, her family around the Sunday dinner table or hosting holidays with all her loved ones around. She enjoyed raising their family on the farm. Other passions she had was watching her children and grandchildren in their sports and school activities. Judy taught Sunday School for many, many years. She greatly enjoyed being part of the Mother's Advancement Club and pitch club that met each month. She also served on the Election Committee.

She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and showered them with prayers daily. Above all, Judy was a devoted child of God who prayed for everyone she knew.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Moore; her parents: Walter and Lillie Christopher; and son-in-law: Jeff Wilson.

Judy is survived by her sons: Mike (Kimberly) Moore of Protection, KS, Mitch (Sandy) Moore of Protection, KS, Merlin (Heather) Moore of Coldwater, KS; daughters: Melanie (Scott) Seatvet of Grand Junction, CO, Mindy (Mark) Huslig of Springfield, MO, Melissa Wilson of Johnson, KS and Michelle (Chris) Pfannenstiel of Andale, KS; grandchildren: Daniel Seatvet, Matthew (CJ) Seatvet, Megan (Nick) Derba, Ryan (Karley) Huslig, Kiley (Rodney) Shanks, Casey Woolfolk, Megan (Mike) Mariche, Lora (Nathan) Welsh, Addison Moore, Austin Mounts, Jared Moore, Karley Moore, Austin Wilson, Reagan (Christopher) Lozar, Garrett (Katie) Wilson, Nolan Pfannenstiel, Lauryn Pfannenstiel and 14 great-grandchildren; sister: Jane (Tom) Roetker of Protection, KS; and brother: Jim (Talma) Christopher of Protection, KS.
