Kelly William Brumbaugh, 49, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Protection Valley Manor in Protection, KS.  Born March 3, 1974, at Dodge City, KS, he was the son of David Lee and Karen Jean (Burt) Brumbaugh.

A lifetime resident of Protection, KS, Kelly attended Protection Public Schools and graduated from Protection High School in 1992.  He was baptized at the First Presbyterian Church in Coldwater, KS.  Kelly worked as a cook at Protection Valley Manor and Don's Restaurant early in his life, and worked at Lane Myers Company in Protection, KS for many years.  He was a member of the Protection Volunteer Fire Department.

On October 17, 2009, he married Rachel Eppens at Protection, KS.  She survives.

He is survived by his wife: Rachel Brumbaugh of Protection, KS; his mother: Karen Brumbaugh of Coldwater, KS; five sons: David Brumbaugh of Topeka, KS, Jacob of Protection, KS, Jayden of Protection, KS, Damion Brumbaugh of Protection, KS, and Keegan Brumbaugh of Protection, KS; one sister: Mindy Brumbaugh of Scott City, KS; one brother: Jesse Brumbaugh (Emily) of Coldwater, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father: David Brumbaugh; his grandparents: Wayne & Frances Brumbaugh and Charles & Katy Burt; and his best friend: Earl Webster.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Protection Valley Manor in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.

A graveside service and inurnment will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS with Pastor Rusty Westerfield presiding.
