Wichita, Kansas – Wilbur "Larry" Van Dorn, age 80, passed away April 24, 2021. He was born on June 25, 1940 to Jennafawn (Bell) and Wilbur "Bill" Van Dorn in Protection, KS. Larry was a devoted father, brother and loving grandpa. He will be dearly missed. Larry graduated from Protection High School in 1959 and attended college at Northwestern University in Enid, OK. He served in the US Army from 1962-1965.

He moved to Wichita, KS to start his career at Cessna Aircraft where he retired after 37 years, as an A&P aircraft mechanic. Larry was known by his family as a steadfast provider who was always willing to help out in any way he could.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and baby sister, Nita Van Dorn. He is survived by his former wife, Charlotte Van Dorn and their daughters, Ashley Taylor and Jennifer Van Dorn;  seven grandchildren Brittany, Tyler, Yasmine, Christian, Maddox, Ava and Ellie;  and two great-grand daughters Audrey and Aubree, all of Wichita, KS; Brother, Roger (Margo) Van Dorn of Buffalo, OK; and three nieces Kaylen, Lindsay and Allison.

Funeral service is at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Protection Christian Church in Protection, KS, with Pastor Rusty Westerfield presiding.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS, with full military honors.
