Obituary

Larry Gene "Tub" Lousch, 81, of Coldwater, Kansas, died Sunday, May 29th at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka Kansas, of complications due to battling dementia.

Larry was born on September 29, 1940 in Coldwater, Kansas, to John and Geneva Lousch. He was one of eight children born to the couple. His brothers were Ronald, Richard, Roger all older and a younger brother Terry. His sisters were Loma, Carol and Donna. He graduated from Coldwater High School in the spring of 1958 and left for the University of Kansas on a football scholarship where he started all four years for the Jayhawks offensive line.

On November 24, 1959, he married Judith Ann Lenertz and had three children, Ronald Scott, Randal Jack, and Sonya Jill. Upon graduation of college with a teaching degree, he landed a job at Stafford, Kansas, where he taught history and coached football for several years. From Stafford he and his family moved to Plains, Kansas, where he taught and coached at Southwestern Heights High School and enjoyed much success including an undefeated season. From Southwestern Heights he decided to return to the family farm and work with his father John. He separated from his first wife and later married Ann Christopher of Protection Kansas. She had two sons, Brad and Andy Christopher. They were married 38 yrs. He remained in farming until retiring in the 2000's. He loved coaching and continued doing so part time while farming and beyond retirement. His hobbies were hunting and fishing which he pursued passionately all his life.

Larry is survived by his brothers: Terry Lousch of Phoenix AZ and Roger Lousch of Wichita KS; sister: Donna Harper of Oklahoma; his children: Jack and Kathy Lousch of Wamego Ks. and Jill and Troy Carter of Forgan Ok; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents: John and Geneva; brothers: Ronald and Richard; sisters: Loma and Carol; and his son: Scott Lousch.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the First Christian Church, 104 E. Cottonwood St., Coldwater KS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Chief Theater, Coldwater/Wilmore Rec., or Lake Coldwater Fireworks Show in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
