Lester Donald "Don" Booth
Lester Donald "Don" Booth, 75, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014, at South Wind Hospice House in Pratt, KS. Born April 9, 1939, on the family farm southeast of Greensburg, KS, the son of Lester and Grace (Thompson) Booth, he was a farmer and rancher.
Don was a lifetime resident of Kiowa County, KS. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1957 and went to work for the Rice Ranch, where he worked for over 40 years. He was a member of the Belvidere Volunteer Fire Department.
On June 27, 1959, he married Mary Jane Emerick at Pratt, KS. She survives.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Jane Booth of the home; two sons: Ron Booth of Haviland, KS and Rob Booth and his wife Wanda of Greensburg, KS; two daughters: Melissa Haas and her husband Trent of Coldwater, KS and Mandy Dunn and her husband Andy of Richfield, KS; one sister: Betty Jo Dirks and her husband Keith of Harden, IL; five grandchildren: Ronda Cookson, Megan Booth, Lindsay Haas, Hannah Dunn, and Lane Haas; three great-grandchildren: Ashley Cookson, Harper Ray, and Cole Cookson; one nephew; and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2014 (Family Will Be Present From 5-7) at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the First Christian Church in Coldwater, KS, with Pastor Doug Johnson presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Wilmore Cemetery in Wilmore, KS.
