Webster
December 27, 1931 – January 25, 2021
Lila May Webster, age 89, went to her heavenly home on January 25, 2021 at Protection Valley Manor. She was born December 27, 1931 on a farm southwest of Protection, Kansas. Lila was the daughter of Albert Hazen and Edith Irene (Thomas) Hazen. She lived most of her life in Protection and was a homemaker, a restaurant cook and a daycare provider for many of the youngsters in the area.
Lila attended Sunny Side Country School and graduated from Protection High School in 1949. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flowers, old windmills, lawn ornaments, and red cardinals, but most of all she loved her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids.
On June 5, 1949, Lila married Earl Edward Webster in Dodge City, Kansas. Earl passed away on October 27, 1992.
Survivors include two children: Diane Petty (Larry) of Protection and Janet Fitzwater (Charley Wooden) of Enid, OK. Sisters: Melva Anderson of Hermitage, TN, Lavona (Alfred) Hobson of Valley Center, KS and brother-in-law Virgil Wiersig of Alva, OK. Grandchildren: Brandon Petty of Buffalo, Oklahoma, Clint (Ashley) Petty of Protection, Earl Webster III (Taylor) of Evergreen, CO, Jonathan (Mikaela) Webster of Protection, Jordan (Micaela) Webster of Medicine Lodge, Josh Webster of Coldwater, KS and Kaleigh (Tanner Chronister) Webster of Checotah, OK. Great-Grandchildren: Trinity (Kelsey) Petty of Woodward, OK, Shaylin Petty of Seiling OK, Jett, Judd, Saige, Sloan and Jaide Petty of Protection, Colt and Ayla Webster, Lila Jo Webster and Kadan and Greyson Chronister. Great-Great-Grandchildren: Jayton and Augustus Petty.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lila was preceded in death by her son Earl Webster II and his daughter Nicole Webster. Brothers: Eugene (Dixie) Hazen and Ora Lee Hazen. Sisters: Lavon Wiersig, Irene Ross and brother-in-law Jack Anderson.
Graveside service is at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2021, at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS, with Pastor Rusty Westerfield presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Protection Valley Manor in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
