Lillian Audrey Pope
Lillian Audrey Pope, 78, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS. Born May 26, 1934 in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of Agnes Goodall.
Lillian was a long time resident of Coldwater, KS, moving there in 1981 from New Bedford, Mass. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Coldwater, KS and volunteered for Prairie Land Food Distribution. She worked for many years as the Activities Director for the Protection Valley Manor in Protection, KS.
On June 4, 1982, she married Gene Pope in Coldwater, KS. He survives.
She is survived by her husband: Gene Pope of Coldwater, KS; one son: Chris Leipham and his wife Michelle of Harrisonville, MO; two step-children: Harold Pope and Kayla Hale; five grandchildren: Lisa Erickson and her husband Chad of Coldwater, KS, Brittany Leipham, Christen Leipham, and Hunter Leipham all of Harrisonville, MO, and Wesley Lakous of Kansas City, MO; five great-grandchildren: Ashley Dunn, Megan Dunn, Corey Erickson, Casey Erickson, and Cameron Erickson; two brothers-in-law: Lonnie Pope and Lanny Pope; and one sister-in-law: Naomi Jutz.
She was preceded in death by her mother, one daughter: Linda Hauser; and a lifelong friend: Gladys Oliver.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS. Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the First Christian Church in Coldwater, KS, with Andrew Evans presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
