Linda Sue Kissel, 81, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Protection Valley Manor in Protection, KS.  Born January 17, 1942, at Beaver, OK, she was the daughter of Virgil and Starr (Brown) Spangler.

Linda graduated from Beaver High School in Beaver, OK and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK.  On April 27, 1963, she married Paul Robert Kissel at Beaver, OK.  He survives.

Linda was a lifetime resident of the Protection, KS area.  She was a member of Protection Christian Church in Protection, KS.  She enjoyed flowers and being outdoors working in her yard and garden.  Linda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband: Paul Kissel of Protection, KS; one son: Kirk Kissel (Gayla) of Protection, KS; three daughters: Tina Dickey (Joe) of Rogers, AR, Amy Miller (Brad) of Paradise, KS, and Dayla Baalman (Dave) of Russell, KS; one sister: Carolyn Harper (Kim) of Hugoton, KS; eleven grandchildren: Megan McCuiston (Stephen), Kaycee Nelson (Max), Jessica Harris (Taylon), Jalen Dickey (Lindsey), Logan Dickey, Gracyn Rack (Jared), Jenna Miller, Lauryn Miller, Tori Miller, Kaden Baalman, and Rylan Baalman; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter: Makena Grace Baalman; and one brother: Leon Spangler.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Protection Christian Church in Protection, KS with Pastor Rusty Westerfield presiding.
