Lori LaMae Canaday, 58, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020, at her residence in Protection, KS.  Born September 24, 1961, at Wichita, KS, she was the daughter of Billy Jack and Patricia Ann (Myers) Sanders.

Lori was a resident of Protection, KS, previously living in Vernon Co., MO.  She attended Protection Grade School, graduated from Protection High School in 1979, and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK.  She worked as a dispatcher for Vernon Co., MO and Clark Co., KS.

On November 9, 1995, she married Danny Canaday at Nevada, MO.  He survives.

She is survived by her husband: Danny Canaday of Protection, KS; her mother: Pat Sanders of Protection, KS; two sons: Ty James of Protection, KS and Preston James of Protection, KS; one brother: Chad Sanders of Casa Grande, AZ; five grandchildren; an aunt: Joyce Veatch of Long Beach, CA; and cousins: Mike Veatch of Garden City, KS and Cathy Anderson of Long Beach, CA.

She was preceded in death by her father: Billy Jack Sanders; her grandparents: Lane and Lila Myers; and an uncle: Wes Veatch.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Kansas Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.

Graveside service is at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2020, at the Protection Cemetery, Protection, KS, with Pastor Dillon Evans presiding.
