Luke Lewis Gean, born October 15, 2012, gained his police badge on Friday, March 15, 2019, surrounded by his loving parents. His mended heart is now whole.

He is watching over his family now; parents: Blaze and April; siblings: Jaden, Kyle, and Milee; Nana and Papa: Don and Sue; Mimi and Pops: Liz and Russ; Grandpa and Grandma: Johnny and Patty; Uncle Chase (Nicole), Aunt Heather (Pete), Aunt TaTa (Dustin), Aunt Kirstie (Randy), Aunt Ashley (Lynn), Uncle Kade, Uncle Keston and Uncle Jason (Diane); Great-Grandparents: Memaw Ginger, Grandma Kay, Grandma Carol, Grandpa Mike Snyder (Guyneth), Grandpa Lewis (June), and Don and Judy Hensley; Cousins: Ember, Asher, Matt, Mike, Ryatt, Rebel, Pate, Jace, Donovan, Tyson, Raegan, Gavin, and Nolan; Numerous other family members and friends; His dear friends: Gina Hoffman, Brandt and Haily Rogers, Westrup Girls, Winter and Doug Jackson, and U.S.D. 300 staff and students.

Special thanks to Dr. O'Brien and Dr. Shah and to all the wonderful nurses and staff on the PICU and cardiac floor at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2019 at South Central Middle School Gymnasium, Protection, KS, with Pastor Trever Ball presiding. Burial will follow the funeral service at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS.

The family requests that guests dress casual and wear red in memory of Luke.
