Marilyn Ivonne (Miller) Pierce

Marilyn Ivonne (Miller) Pierce, 81, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011, at Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, Kansas. Born May 22, 1930, at Coldwater, Kansas, she was the daughter of Ernest and Merl (Williams) Miller.
Marilyn was a graduate of the 1948 class of Coldwater High School. She belonged to Loyal Hustlers 4-H Club. She graduated from Northwestern State College in Alva, Oklahoma, and was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.
She met Tom Pierce while in college and they married February 15, 1953, at the Antioch Methodist Church in Buttermilk, Kansas.
During their years together, Tom and Marilyn resided in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Coldwater, Kansas, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Richardson, Texas, San Jose, California, Fort Collins, Colorado, and back again to Coldwater. While living in Oklahoma City, they were active in R.S.E.S. and enjoyed square dancing.
Tom and Marilyn have four children: Steven (Nancy) of Portland, Oregon, Linda (Tom St. Denis) of Fort Collins, Colorado, Gary (Laura) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Dan (Mary) of San Jose, California. They have seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters: Audrey St. Denis, Amy (Matthew) Simpson, Caroline Pierce, Christa Pierce, Brian Pierce, Andrew St. Denis, Samuel Pierce, and Leah and Lillian Simpson. Also surviving Marilyn is her brother and his wife: Darrol and Pauline Miller of Coldwater, Kansas; Tom's sister and her husband: William and Charlotte Lauric of Littleton, Colorado; four nieces; one nephew; and several cousins and their families.

Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Coldwater United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Merritt presiding. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, Kansas.
