Martin Luther Webster, Jr.

Martin Luther Webster, Jr., 78, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. Born September 5, 1933, at the family farm south of Protection, KS, the son of Martin Luther Webster, Sr. and Minnie Pearl (Ogden) Webster, he was a farmer and rancher.
Martin was a lifetime resident of Comanche County, KS. He attended Pleasant Valley Country School and graduated from Protection High School in 1952. Martin's love for horses brought him to the sport of rodeo. He traveled many miles to participate in team roping and calf roping and was a member of numerous rodeo associations.
On June 7, 1953, he married Betty Jane Kimberly at Protection, KS. To this union three daughters were born. He married Marjorie Brewer on February 14, 1997, at Wichita, KS. She preceded him in death on June 4, 2009.
In addition to his wife Marjorie, he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Clark Webster, Earl Webster, and John Webster; and one sister: Ida May Robey.
Martin is survived by three daughters: Sharon Leeper and husband Kim of Wilmore, KS, Kimberly Zweygardt and husband Kary of St. Francis, KS, and Shelly Freeman and husband Vic of Garden City, KS; two sisters: Vergie Critzer and Ethel Loffland, both of Pratt, KS; nine grandchildren: Cade Leeper and wife Jody, Seth Leeper and wife Kimberly, Cassi Nunnery and husband J.D., Lauren Zweygardt and fiancé Nathan Lusk, Jordan Zweygardt, Britt Zweygardt, Tara Ail and husband Jon, Tanner Freeman, and Tyler Freeman and fiancé Jordan Partin; eight great-grandchildren: Creed, Cashton, Emma Grace, Parker, Gage, Beckett, Corbin, and Carson; step-children: Josh Morlan, Jason Morlan, Gregory Breit, Patrick Breit, Debbie Hollinger, DeAnn Mull, and Stephanie Meister; and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Protection United Methodist Church in Protection, KS, with Rev. La Verne Bolling presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS.
