Obituary

Mary May Eubank, 65, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022 at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo, TX.  Born July 22, 1956, at Coldwater, KS, she was the daughter of Chester Willard and Dorothy Edna (Corbin) Friend.

Mary attended Centerview County School, a two-room schoolhouse, through 6 th grade, graduated from Freedom High School in Freedom, OK in 1974, and attended N.W.O.S.U. in Alva, OK for two years.

On June 2, 1976, she married George Daniel "Danny" Eubank at Alva, OK.  He survives.

Mary was involved in County Extension, including being a 4-H Club Leader, Extension Board Member, E.H.U. Member, Fair Board Member, and County Fair Foods Judge.  Other memberships include: Mu Nu Sorority; Protection Library Board; Township Trustee; Soil Conservation Board; and Santa Claus Day Soup Maker.

Mary's most important job was being a wife, mother, and homemaker.  She loved being outside and working on the farm.  For a while, she sold DeKalb Seed.  In 1997, she started the Bluff Creek Kitchen, where she was most known for her Jalapeno Mustard and Sand Plum Jelly.

Mary loved her family, and her favorite times were helping with the grandkids.

Mary is survived by her husband of 45 years: Danny Eubank of Protection, KS; two daughters: Robin Eubank-Callis (Troy) of Medicine Lodge, KS and Gayla Redger of Protection, KS; her grandchildren: Elizabeth Mahayla, Thomas Wayne, and Robert Justin Redger and Harold Bradie Callis; siblings: Willard Friend (Diana) of Wichita, KS, Elma Mitchell (Ray) of Lanagan, MO, and Rex Friend of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters-in-law: Marilyn Friend of Freedom, OK and Barbara Hines of Cypress, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws: Howard and Fern Eubank; siblings: Edna Green (Bill) and John Friend; sister-in-law: Carolyn Pearson; son-in-law: Justin David Redger; and grandson: Maverick James Redger.

Calling times are from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Family Will Be Present from 5-7 p.m.), Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.

Funeral service is at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2022, at Protection Grace Bible Church in Protection, KS, with Pastor Dillon Evans and Pastor Rodney Worsham presiding.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Comanche County 4-H or Barber County 4-H in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
