Mary Louise Fitzwater, 75, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.  Born March 17, 1947, at Overland Park, KS, she was the daughter of John W.H. and Mary Louise (Denney) Mattoon.

Mary graduated from high school in Overland Park, KS and attended Kansas State University.  On May 31, 1969, she married Jack Lee Fitzwater at Wichita, KS.  He preceded her in death on August 21, 2021.

Mary was a long time resident of the Protection, KS area, previously living in Des Moines, IA.  She was a member of Protection Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by one son: Kendal Fitzwater of Protection, KS; one daughter: Amy Baker and her husband Doug of Protection, KS; two grandchildren: Hailey and Sophie Baker; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Viewing is from 12:00 noon until Service Time on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Protection Methodist Church in Protection, KS.

Funeral Service is at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2022, at Protection Methodist Church in Protection, KS, with Pastor Rick Branson presiding.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS.
